The biggest workspace market in Alabama, and how it splits
We track eight workspaces in Huntsville — more than any other Alabama market — spread across five parts of the city. Published rates run $35 to $69 a day, $150 to $750 a month, and $29 to $75 an hour for meeting rooms. That $600 monthly spread is the widest on this site, because these are genuinely different products.
Three lead with coworking and desks; the other five lead with private offices. Six of the eight offer a virtual-office plan and four list 24-hour access — both signs of a market serving contract workers and small firms rather than nine-to-five tenants. If you want an open-plan desk here your choice is genuinely narrow; if you want a door that closes, you have options in every quadrant.
Two national operators sit in Cummings Research Park, on Market Street and Old Madison Pike. Downtown holds two more, Lincoln Mill is the converted-mill option north of the core, and south and west Huntsville hold one each.
Where location actually changes the price
The received wisdom is that downtown and the research park carry a premium over the rest of the city. Our own listings only half agree.
On day passes it holds: Cummings Research Park runs $59 to $69 a day against $35 downtown and at Lincoln Mill. On monthly rates it reverses — the most expensive private office we track is in south Huntsville at $750, and the cheapest is in west Huntsville at $150. Ask about the specific building, not the side of town.
Our Huntsville coworking cost guide breaks the whole thing down, including what actually moves the price and the extras that catch people out.
Frequently asked questions
Across the eight Huntsville workspaces we track, day passes run $35 to $69, hot-desk memberships $150 to $210 a month, and small private offices $600 to $750 a month. Meeting rooms bill at $29 to $75 an hour. Dedicated desks and virtual offices are quoted per space rather than published.
Four of the eight: the downtown private-office suite, the south Huntsville address on Boulevard South, the Cummings Research Park private offices on Old Madison Pike, and the west Huntsville workspace. The other four do not list it, so if you work irregular hours that halves the field.
The two national operators in Cummings Research Park — on Market Street and Old Madison Pike — are the usual picks, because they give you a research-park address, professional meeting rooms and virtual-office plans, and both sit minutes from the Redstone gates. Whether a given address satisfies your contract requirements is a question for your contracting officer, not for us.
The west Huntsville workspace publishes the lowest monthly rate in the metro at $150. On day rates, downtown and Lincoln Mill start at $35, against $59 to $69 in Cummings Research Park. Huntsville is not the cheapest Alabama market overall — Daphne starts at $99 and Dothan at $100 — but it has by far the most choice.
Yes — six of the eight we track do, including both Cummings Research Park operators. Plans typically cover a business address, mail handling and meeting-room access. Tell us on the form that an address is what you need and we will confirm what each one bundles and what it costs.
